1. How long will it take to get my VectorJetCG? Each guitar is hand built from scratch.   That takes time so please expect 60 to 90 days from the time you purchase until the time you get your guitar. Like all custom builds, we have to wait for the paint to cure and to properly dry before we can assemble the axe and ship to you.
  2. What are the guitars made out of?   The bodies are poplar, the necks are maple, and the fingerboards are rosewood.
  3. What if I want a maple fingerboard?  We only do rosewood.  I’ve never been a big fan of maple.  There’s nothing wrong with them, they’re just a little too “sticky” for my personal taste as a guitar player.   Since it has the Finkelpearl name on it, I want to sell you something I’d play myself.  If I don’t like it, how can I expect my players to like it?
  4. What pickups do you use?   Each VectorJetCG is loaded with a Jason Lollar JM pickup in the bridge position.   These five pole Alnico pick-ups are over wound by Jason to deliver a punchy and bright lead tone.  In the neck spot, an authentic Danelectro single coil lipstick.   This gives the guitar a bright and crispy tone.  Together, I like to say the pick up configuration brings “jangly punch.”
  5. How do you wire them?  Three way.  Middle position is a blend of the two pickups.  What if I want a five way switch to give me an out of phase sound?  Hmmm, write to me and let’s discuss your needs.
  6. Are you a luthier?  Nope, I just design Finkelpearl Guitars. The guitars are built to my exacting specs – and your choice of sixteen colors and two finishes — by a luthier based in the heart of the American south. For trade reasons, I don’t want to reveal exactly who he is but I will tell you he spent years learning his craft in the Fender Custom Shop and he’s got his own brand of guitars on the market too.  I’m lucky to have him as my quiet but mighty partner in this great venture to bring you custom built American guitars.
  7. What comes with the guitar?  Your purchase includes a Ritter soft case and a Finkelpearl Guitars t-shirt.
  8. Are the guitars warranted?  Of course! We have a limited 90 day warrantee that protects your guitar completely from any defects on our end.  We want you to be happy.  But we can’t be responsible if you pull a Pete Townshend on us and smash it into the stage.
  9. What about quality control? I personally inspect each and every guitar that emerges from the factory.  You won’t receive it unless I think it’s ready for you.
  10. What’s your return policy?  All sales are final.  You’re likely here at this website because you’re a discriminating guitar player, able to tell the difference between a fine instrument and a production model built overseas. We’re convinced that you’ll be very happy with this high quality, hand built guitar, cherish it for years to come, and hand it down to others in your family.
  11. Why do you have only one design?  Another one will come down the road shortly. But that’s likely it.  We want to do this really well and not get spread too thin. This is about building guitars we’re proud of and that our players love to fret.  It’s not about a sheer tonnage of models.  Hey, think Leo Fender! He did pretty well with just a few signature models, right!?
